Aleksandras Brokas

Aleksandras is an award winning documentary photographer, film producer and director based in Vilnius, Lithuania. He holds a bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Arts from Lithuanian Academy of Music & Theatre and has produced commercial TV productions, music videos and several documentary films. His documentary Endless Corridor has received several awards, for example Best program 2015 in The Accolade Global Film Competition and Best documentary film 2015 in The Madrid & Tenerife International Film Festival.

  1. How did you start with photo/video?
    I started my professional photography career in 1998 when I started to study Audio Visual Arts in Lithuanian Academy of Music & Theatre.

  2. How would you describe your style?
    I would describe my style as media aesthetics.

  3. What inspires you?
    I'm inspired by the English cinematographer Roger Deakins. His works include for example Blade Runner 2049, A Beautiful Mind, Fargo and O Brother, Where Art Thou?

  4. What is your dream shoot or project?
    Anything that could change the world for better.

  5. What is your best advice to others that want to develop as photographers?
    Look for the balance between technology, inspiration and know-how.

  1. What is the most important in your bag?
    Batteries, lenses and the right mood is a great start.
