Q&A
- How did you start with photo/video?
After moving to Upper Silesia and starting university life, I wanted to have as many captured memories as possible. That's why I bought my first camera. I still love exploring new places and this will never change. When it comes to the more technical aspects of photography, I am self-taught. - How would you describe your style?
Joy from the first step on the trail! I like to be close to the subject, which is why I often use wide-angle and standard zooms. I make no secret of the fact that I am constantly working on something individual, so that you can recognise the author just by looking at a photograph. - What inspires you?
Mountains, nature, interesting buildings built by the hands of people. It encourages me to look for ideas on how to present a well-known place or object in a less obvious way. - What is your dream shoot or project?
One of the most wonderful phenomena I could see with my own eyes is the aurora borealis. I would most love to photograph it in northern Scandinavia or Iceland. - What is your best advice to others that want to develop as photographers?
"You need to have patience, my young padawan." In order to take a good photo, we often have to wait quite a long time for the best conditions such as cloud system, light and shadow. One time they will appear right away, other times during an outdoor shoot we have to wait for tens of minutes or even several hours. Skills such as composition or looking for an attractive foreground will come with experience. It is important to be aware that landscape photography is not just about taking the camera out of the bag and pressing the shutter button. Proper preparation is also key, knowing at what time of day, night or year we can get the most attractive shot. It is useful to know the basics of geography, meteorology or astronomy. This makes us more versatile!
What is in your bag?
- What is the most important in your bag?
I use a Canon Eos R mirrorless camera, RF 15-35mm and 24-105mm lenses. Plus, a Dji Mavic Pro 2 drone, each of these elements is equally important to me when outdoors. Likewise, a set of NiSi landscape filters or ... a set of dry-cleaning cloths. - Which bag do you use?
I use a Peak Design Sling 10L bag and Lowepro Whistler and Photosport backpacks.
