About Tamron

Tamron was founded in 1950 by Takeyuki Arai. In 1957 Tamron launched the world’s first interchangeable lens system for SLR cameras developed by optical designer Uhyone Tamura. The T-mount system and the 135mm F/4.5 lens were the first breakthrough products and as a tribute to the innovative designer, Tamron was registered as a trademark in 1959.
