TSN-66 inherits several optical designs and clever upgrades previously developed for the recent TSN-88 / 99 large objective models. An enhanced optical coating and a fluorite crystal lens ensure a high transmission throughout all visible light wavelengths and produces an image free of chromatic aberration and negative optical distractions. Kowa’s unique KR coating on the front lens actively repels dirt, moisture and dust from building on the lens.
The body is made of a magnesium alloy and has several of the features that characterize the Prominar series such as dual-focusing, dual tripod mount and an attachable aiming site. With Kowa's dual focus, it's easy to quickly get a sharp image every time. The quick focus brings your subject into detail in just a few smooth revolutions while fine focus provides pin-point fingertip control, delivering the ultimate in focusing accuracy. The magnesium alloy body not only provides robustness but also ensures a lightweight design. With a fully sealed outer body, the spotting scope is 100% waterproof and nitrogen-filled, making it impervious to the elements. The front has a 72mm filter thread which makes it easy to attach protective filters and features a smooth twist sunshade with improved aiming site to help locate a subject more rapidly.
The spotting scope is available in two versions, TSN-66A (angled) and TSN-66S (straight). Cross compatibility is a fundamental feature of all Kowa Prominar spotting scopes and the TSN-66 is no exception. The accessory collar and bayonet mount is 100% compatible with the entire Kowa System accessory range which makes it a very versatile spotting scope.
