The Tiny but almighty series saw the worlds light in 2017 meeting the markets demand for lighter lenses with outstanding optical performance for mirrorless cameras. This is the fifth member of the popular series that is designed for Sony mirrorless cameras and targets portrait and lifestyle photographers.
The AF 75 mm f/1.8 FE pursues the minimalist lifestyle goal and weight only 230g and measures 6,9 cm long, making it, together with the great aperture, a perfect lens for wedding and portrait photographers on the go. The lens is designed for a full frame sensor but works well for APS-c
With a great optics design Samyang shows that a creamy and a beautiful bokeh not only comes from aperture but also from a unique optical design. With a total of 10 elements in 9 groups and the use of 5 special elements (3 extra low dispersion and 2 high refractive) this lens creates a look with incredible sharpness, low chromatic aberration and minimal distortion. The aperture consists of 9 blades and produces together with the optical design a nice and circular bokeh.
The lens delivers fast and stable autofocusing, using a new linear stepping motor (STM). The motor is fast, quiet and accurate and suits both photographer and videographers who demands a fast and reliable autofocus. It’s perfect for the fast and volatile situations that easily arise during weddings and portrait photography of children.
New for this lens is a custom switch which lets the user adjust the aperture with the focus ring by switching the custom switch on the side of the lens. The custom switch function can also be changed to the customers preference via firmware (Samyang lens station required).
